Marcus Schenkenberg

Marcus Schenkenberg (born Marcus Lodewijk Schenkenberg van Mierop on August 4, 1968) is a male supermodel, actor, singer and TV-personality born in Stockholm, Sweden but of Dutch descent. He is world-famous for his muscular, well-proportioned body, and especially for his "washboard" abdominal muscles.

Modelling

His career as a male Supermodel started in 1989 when he was “discovered” by a photographer when rollerskating on Venice Beach, California, USA. His first magazine cover was for “Harpers Bazaar” in 1991, and he later has modelled for Gianni Versace, Donna Karan, Ungaro and Calvin Klein, earning him a reputation for being the world’s most beautiful man, as well as making him the world’s highest paid male model. He has appeared in numerous fashion shows as well as in magazines like Vogue Italia and Elle. In May 1992 Marcus Schenkenberg was named one of People magazines 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.

Acting

Marcus has appeared as “Tiny” in the movie Prince Valiant (1997) , in Modern Talking (1999), Hostage (1999) (lead character), Dinner Rush (2000) and Meatballs and Macaroni.

Television

He has also appeared in TV programs and series as VIP (1998), the German series "Wetten, dass..?" (2000), As the World Turns, The Corlucci Cald Show (on Italian TV), La Grande Note de Lunadi Sera (Italy) and Never mind the buzzcocks (2002) as well as “La Talpa”, the Italian Version of "Celebriy Mole" (2004).

He is the guest host of a sports program (soccer) on Italian TV, and will also appear on VH1's 4th of season of The Surreal Life with Da Brat, Chyna, Jane Wiedlin, Christopher Knight, Verne Troyer, and Adrianne Curry.

In 1997, he published a book, Marcus Schenkenberg, New Rules, which featured numerous photos and personal notes and comments about his career as a male Supermodel, as well as contributions from collegues, family members and people in the fashion and modelling business.

Marcus Schenkenberg speaks six languages: Swedish (his native tongue), Dutch, German, French, Italian, and English.

He has recorded a hit song; “La chica Marita”, and is a spokesperson for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), an organization working for better treatment of animals.

Marcus Schenkenberg is the former boyfriend of Pamela Anderson. Schenkenberg is 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) and weighs 200 lb (91 kg).
