Maria Emanuel, Margrave of Meissen

Maria Emanuel, Margrave of Meissen (born 1926) is the head of the Royal House of Saxony.

Born in Prüfenig , Germany as son of hereditary prince Friedrich Christian of Saxony , Margrave of Meissen and Isabel Elena, Princess of Thurn und Taxis.

He married at the age of 40 to Princess Anastasia of Anhalt ; they have no children, and he has acknowledged as his heir the son of his sister Princess Anan and Robert of Afif, Alexander Prince of Saxony-Gessaphe, married to Princess Giselle of Bavaria, although this decision is disputed by junior branches of the family.
