Marie Henriette, Queen of Belgium

HRH Marie Henriette (born as Marie Henriette of Habsburg-Lorraine, Arch-Duchess of Austria) was born August 23 1836 at Pest (now Budapest, Hungary), as daughter of Archduke Jozef of Austria and Marie Dorothee von Wurtemberg . When she was 17 she married 18 year old prince Leopold II of Belgium (later: King Leopold II of Belgium) on August 22 1853.

They had four children together:

  • Louise Marie (1858-1924)
  • Leopold (1859-1869) - died at the age of 7
  • Stephanie (1864-1945)
  • Clementine (1872-1955)

She died in Spa, Liège, Belgium on September 20, 1902.
