Mark Skaife
Mark Skaife (b 3 April, 1967) is one of the most popular and successful touring car race drivers Australia has ever produced. After initial success in Karting, Mark Skaife switched to cars. He won the 2 litre Australian Touring Car Championship in 1987, and the Formula Brabham Australian Drivers Championship in 1991, 1992 and 1993.
His touring car career includes five Australian Touring Car/V8 Supercar championships (1992, 1994, 2000, 2001, 2002) and four Bathurst 1000 victories (1991 and 1992 with Jim Richards driving a Nissan Skyline; 2001 with Tony Longhurst and 2002 with Jim Richards again, both in Holden Commodores). A Holden driver since 1993, he now owns the Holden Racing Team . Outspoken yet articulate, Skaife hopes to get back to winning ways after a horror 2004 V8 Supercar season.
