Marka Ragnos
In the fictional universe of Star Wars, Marka Ragnos, a former Dark Lord of the Sith, was featured predominately in the videogame Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for the PC and the Xbox. In the 2003 videogame Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the player can explore his tomb on the planet Korriban and acquire his gloves for use.
Ragnos was originally featured in the comic book series Tales of the Jedi. Details of his reign are few, although his death marked the end of the high point of the Sith Empire. Immediately following his funeral, a schism erupted between the leaders of the Sith, and further events led to a major war with the Galactic Republic and, because the schism was never healed, ultimately the end of their interstellar empire.
About one millennium after his death, Markos's spirit was summoned from the grave by a pair of Sith talismans to crown Exar Kun as the new Dark Lord, and Ulic Qel-Droma as Kun's apprentice, all in an attempt, which would ultimately fail, to restore the lost empire of a thousand years prior. The resulting war devastated the Star Wars galaxy once again.
Approximately four thousand years later, Marka Ragnos's spirit once again returned from beyond the grave, this time summoned by a Sith cult known as the Disciples of Ragnos. Though this cult was eventually defeated, Ragnos's ghost escaped back to his tomb on Korriban, where he remains with the rest of the ancient Dark Lords, waiting to arise and threaten the galaxy again.
