Marquess of Reading
The title of Marquess of Reading was created in 1926 for Rufus Isaacs, 1st Earl of Reading, the former Viceroy of India and Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. This peerage is the highest ever attained by a Jew. It is the juniormost Marquessate in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.
The Marquess holds the subsidiary titles of Earl of Reading (1917), Viscount Reading, of Erleigh in the County of Berkshire (1916), Viscount Erleigh, of Erleigh in the County of Berkshire (1917), and Baron Reading, of Erleigh in the County of Berkshire (1914).
