Matija Ljubek
Matija Ljubek (November 22, 1953 - October 11, 2000) was a successful canoeist from Belišće, Croatia.
He became world famous during the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada, where he won a golden medal in 1000m and a bronze medal in 500m Canadian canoeing.
In the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, USA he could repeat his success, this time with a golden medal in 500m and a silver one in 1000m.
His trainer was Laszlo Hingl .
