Maxim Opalev (born 4 April 1979) is an athlete from Russia. He competes in canoeing.
Opalev competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's 500 metre individual canoe.
He won his initial heat of the 500 metre with a time of 1:48.144, qualifying directly for the finals. In the final, he finished third, edging out Aliaksandr Zhukouski of Belarus by finishing in 1:46.383, .136 seconds better than Zhukouski's time, to win the bronze medal.
