Media Ventures
Media Ventures is the name of Hans Zimmer and Jay Rifkin 's film scoring company, which is known for housing composers who mainly use synthesizers for their scores.
The MV Team
The MV team has included the following composers:
- Klaus Badelt
- Justin Burnett
- James Michael Dooley
- Nick Glennie-Smith
- Harry Gregson-Williams
- Rupert Gregson-Williams
- Trevor Horn
- Steve Jablonsky
- Trevor Jones
- James S. Levine
- Henning Lohner
- Mark Mancina
- John Powell
- Jeff Rona
- Mel Wesson
- Geoff Zanelli
- Hans Zimmer
Often, many members of the team will work together to produce a film score, with only one of the members actually receiving the billing. This has occurred on the scores to Black Hawk Down (credited to Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard) and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (credited to Badelt), to name a few.
Also, it is common for two members of the team to work together in pairs on a score. Some notable occurrences of this are the acclaimed scores of H. Gregson-Williams and Powell for DreamWorks' animated movies Antz, Chicken Run, Shrek, and Shrek 2.
