Mega Man IV

This game is the game for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Famicom. For the Game Boy game, see: Mega Man IV (Game Boy)

Mega Man IV (Rockman 4 in Japan) is a video game that is a part of the Mega Man Classic series. The video game was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America and Europe, and on the Famicom in Japan. The series continues with the sequel to the video game Mega Man III. In the game, Dr. Cossack is the newest threat to the world as he invents eight robots and sends them after Mega Man. Later it is revealed that Dr. Wily kidnapped Dr. Cossack's daughter, Kalinka, and held her for ransom. When Proto Man rescues her, Dr. Cossack betrays Dr. Wily and joins Mega Man.

Mega Man in this game is able to fire more powerful shots. When the player holds the button to fire the Mega Buster, Mega Man starts to glow. When the player releases the button, Mega Man fires a shot that is more powerful than his non-charged shot.

Unlike Mega Man II and III, the player can go back to Robot Master stages that he or she has completed. The game has a maximum capacity of ten lives, and the player will have three lives whenever he or she starts a game or resumes a game.

The following Robot Masters appear in this game. The character designer is listed after the robot.
