Mercury Milan

The 2006 Mercury Milan is a midsize sedan based on the Ford CD3 platform. The Milan carries a unique fascia and tail design, but is otherwise identical to its Ford cousin, the Ford Fusion. The Milan, along with the full-size 2005 Mercury Montego, will replace the ageing Mercury Sable. The Milan also fills the gap left after the cancellation of the midsize Mercury Mystique in 2000.

The Milan was unveiled at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show on February 9. Eariler, at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, a hybrid version was announced for the 2008 model year.

The Milan is availabile with a five-speed manual, or five- or six-speed automatic. All wheel drive will be added for 2007. Pricing starts under US$20,000.
