Metalicity
Metallicity is a number denoting the mass fraction of a star which consists of metals. In astronomical jargon a metal is any element other than hydrogen and helium. Metallicity is typically denoted by an upper-case Z, with X and Y denoting the mass fraction of hydrogen and helium.
