The Metropolitan Borough of Bermondsey was a metropolitan borough under London County Council, created in 1899. It was merged into the London Borough of Southwark in 1965.

It covered the areas of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, and was the successor to the St Olave's Poor Law Union which brought together the civil parishes of Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Saint Olave's (near the cognate Tooley Street). The town hall was on Spa Road, SE16, and was bombed during World War 2. After World War 2 a neighbouring building was used and is this now used as offices for Southwark Council.

Its coat of arms had a lion with a crozier and two letters B to represent Bermondsey and its ancient abbey, a crown with an axe for King Olaf II of Norway, and a ship for Rotherhithe and the Surrey Commercial Docks.
