Michael E. Knight

Actor Michael Knight, also credited as Michael E. Knight (born May 7, 1959, Princeton, New Jersey) stars on the daytime drama All My Children as the amorous Tad Martin, arguably one of the most popular characters on the show. Fans, soap columnists, and even characters on the show have referred to his amorous personality as Tad the Cad, as he took the virginity of Liza Colby (played by Marcy Walker), only to make love to her mother, Marian (Jennifer Bassey) just days later. The character's "love 'em and leave 'em" mentality ended when he fell madly in love with Dixie Cooney (Cady McClain). However, his previous lifestyle was parodied most memorably in the Fan February episode which aired in early 2003.

Knight's first stint on All My Children ran from 1982 to 1986. He returned from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to present. Once feared dead, "Tad" returned to the show as amnesiac winery heir "Ted Orsini" in 1993.

He has made several guest apearances as Tad Martin on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live: first in 1996 with Gloria Marsh (Theresa Blake ) and again for a Fan Fantasy episode in 2003, in which Tad became engaged to real life wife Catherine Hickland (Lindsay Rappaport). Most recently (along with other AMC castmembers), he appeared on the show as part of the babyswitch storyline in 2005.

In real life, he has been married since 1992 to One Life to Live star Catherine Hickland.
