Michael Turner (cosmologist)
Michael S. Turner is a cosmologist who coined the term dark energy. He is employed by the University of Chicago. Turner earned a Doctor of Physics degree from Leland Stanford Junior University in 1978. In 1997 he won an American Physical Society's Julius Edgar Lilienfeld Prize . He is assistant director for mathematical and physical sciences of the US National Science Foundation.
