Mick Harris

Mick John Harris is a British musician. He was Napalm Death's second drummer. He joined after one of the founding members "The Rat" left the band in November 1985. His first live appearance with the band was on January 18, 1986, opening for Amebix. He played on the A-side of Scum and was the sole survivor that got to record the B-side! He remained in the band through many line-up changes and finally left in 1991 just after the tour for Harmony Corruption ended, because, Mitch says: "He wanted to slow things down. No more fast stuff!".

Mick also played drums for Doom and crustcore extremists Extreme Noise Terror while in Napalm Death. Reportedly, Doom was less Discharge-like and had more of a Celtic Frost/crossover feel to it (that was before the band signed with Peaceville Records ). Also while in Napalm Death, Mick had a side project with Mitch Harris called Defecation , with whom he released one record, Purity Dilution, through Nuclear Blast. A second Defecation album was written, but Earache Records forbid them to release it (since it was being released through Nuclear Blast), so it was shelved.

After leaving Napalm Death he joined the band's original bassist/lead singer Nik Bullen, and founded Scorn, another industrial project. Scorn released several albums and EPs, being quite successful. Due to personal problems, Nik left Scorn in 1995. Mick kept recording and playing under the Scorn moniker, but the band finally broke up in 1997. He has many other side projects such as Lull and Painkiller and has worked on collaborations with Jimmy Plotkin, Justin Broadrick and Bill Laswell).

Recently, Mick has reformed Scorn and plans to release Scorn7 on the near future.
