Midnight Club

Midnight Club: Street Racing is a racing simulation along the lines of The Fast and the Furious movies. The player starts off with a relatively plain and slow car and through a series of races (each with different goals) they defeat other racers and win their faster and better looking cars.

The game suffered from a number of bugs and glitches in terms of its object modeling and graphics, but it was to be expected for a launch title for the PlayStation 2 platform. The game featured a "Capture the Flag" mode (for both single- and multi-player) that often received high marks.

It was created by Angel Studios (now Rockstar San Diego) and published by Rockstar Games on October 25, 2000.

Midnight Club II is the followup game, published for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. Players race through cities inspired by Los Angeles, Paris, and Tokyo, respectively. Midnight Club II features an online component.

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is the third in the series, which puts emphasis on customization. This version is partnered with DUB magazine and features real licensed vehicles.
