Military of Palau
Palau has no independent military, and relies on the United States for its defense. Under a Compact of Free Association, signed upon the granting of full independence in 1994, the American military has been granted access to the islands for 50 years.
Palau is a Nuclear-Free Zone. It does not endorse weapons of mass destruction of any kind. The role of the US Navy is quite minimal, limited to a handful of Navy SeaBee's but the US Coast Guard does have a stronger presences in patroling the waters.
