Millennium Scholarship

The Millennium Scholarship is a Canadian scholarship granted to students leaving secondary education to enter post-secondary as well as to students currently in post-secondary institutions.

The Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation is a private and autonomous organization established by an Act of Canadian Parliament in 1998 with an endowment of $2.5 billion CDN. It provides students with opportunities to pursue the post-secondary education they need to prepare themselves for the future.

The Bursary Program

The Foundation allocates $285 million in millennium bursaries to students in Canada each year. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of need and merit. Students who meet the Foundation's merit criteria are ranked in order of financial need by their province or territory of residence, which then forwards the names of the students determined to have the highest need to the Foundation.
