Mineral (band)

Mineral is an Austin, Texas emo band. After forming in 1994, they released two albums on crank! a record company, The Power Of Failing (1995) and End Serenading (1998). They broke up up shortly after the relesae of End Serenading . Although similar to pioneers Sunny Day Real Estate, in that they both shared a love for and in fact defined the poppier conventions in the emo music style, Mineral definitely stands by itself as an important band in the development of the modern-day emo music from the more hardcore-sounding emo.

Members of this band went on to form other bands after breaking up. Gabriel Wiley is a member of Pop Unknown, and worked with Scott McCarver on Imbroco for a brief period of itme. A slightly more successful project was formed by Christopher Simpson and Jeremy Gomez, The Gloria Record.
