Mius River
Mius (Russian: Миус) is a river in Eastern Europe that flows through Ukraine and Russia. It starts in the Donets Range of Donetsk Oblast and flows through Lugansk Oblast, Ukraine and Rostov Oblast, Russia into the Mius Firth of the Sea of Azov, west of Taganrog. Its length is 258 km.
During the WWII the Germans created a heavily fortified line, known as Miusfront or Mius-Front, that was an arena of fierce battles during the Battle of Rostov (1943) .
