Moloko is the name of a leftfield dance-pop group from Sheffield, England, consisting of Roisin Murphy and Mark Brydon . Their first album, entitled Do you like my tight sweater? was Roisin's chat-up line to Mark at a party back in 1995. This, and their second album I Am Not A Doctor, were cult releases.

The band broke into the mainstream when Sing It Back, a track from I Am Not A Doctor, was remixed by house producer Mousse T. The track was a massive hit in Ibiza, and this remixed version broke into the UK charts in 1999. The band also had chart success with The Time Is Now, the first single from the third album, Things To Make And Do. This album had relied less on the leftfield beats of the previous albums, and featured more acoustic instruments. This trend continued with the release of Statues in 2003.
