Mona (Wario)
Mona is a character from the Wario Ware subseries of games. She was established in the original game as a high school student as well as a part-time employee.
In the original Wario Ware, Inc. Mega Microgame$ for Game Boy Advance, Mona worked at the Gelateria, an ice cream shop. Her story mode involved outdriving a pack of police cars with the aid of a monkey to get to work on time. Her microgames were placed in the Strange genre, featuring bizarre games like brushing teeth or inhaling mucus quickly. She was also "playable" in Ding-Dong , an unlockable multiplayer mode in the game.
In Wario Ware, Inc. Mega Party Game$ for GameCube, Mona switched jobs and went to work at the Sora sora restaurant as a waitress. As with the other developers, Mona hosted a multiplayer mode, hers being called "Listen to the Doctor ." This game revolved around completing microgames while performing various moves or feats as instructed by the Doctor. Competitors would clap with the A Button if the player performed the feat well (or at all), and the person who had been clapped for the most would win the game.
In Wario Ware Twisted!, again for Game Boy Advance, Mona once again swithced jobs, this time working for a pizzeria known as (coincidentically) Mona Pizza . Her storyline involved delivering a pizza whislt being chased by rival pizzeria Pizza Dinosaur. Her new batch of microgames made use of the rotating tilt sensor built into the game pak, applying it to the Strange genre as usual. Mona was featured in several unlockables in the game, including a music box which played her level's music theme while a little toy Mona spun around.
In Wario Ware Touched! for the new Nintendo DS, Mona is now the head of a fairly popular rock band. Her story involves Vanessa, a jealous rival singer sending a giant robot bird after her and her band. Making use of the stylus and touch screen the system possesses, all of Mona's microgames involve short, precise touches of the screen.
There is evidence, primarily gleaned from the first two Ware games, that suggests that Wario and Mona are a couple of sorts. In Mega Party Game$, Mona's bio mentions that she is a bit smitten with him, and in one of the cinemas of Mega Microgame$, Wario dreams of her while muttering the phrase "So cute."
Interestingly, Mona is (so far) the only Wario Ware developer to appear in 3-D.
