Monica Potter

Monica Potter (born Monica Louise Brokaw June 30, 1971) is an American actress who started her acting career on the daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she attended the Villa Angela Catholic School for girls.

Potter started modeling and doing commercials at the age of 12 in both Chicago and Miami before she decided to try out acting.

Potter is one of four daughters of an inventor and a secretary and says that she knew from childhood that she wanted to be an actress one day. She almost became a nun, but for the fact that she was married and pregnant at 19.

She starred opposite Nicolas Cage in Con Air, Robin Williams in Patch Adams, Freddie Prinze Jr. in Head Over Heels, and Morgan Freeman in the thriller Along Came a Spider. She currently has a recurring role on the television series, Boston Legal. In 2004, she starred in the film Reversible Errors . Monica's following film was Saw.

Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows allegedly wrote the song "Mrs. Potter's Lullaby " about her after watching Patch Adams.
