Moorestown-Lenola, New Jersey

Moorestown-Lenola is a census-designated place located in Burlington County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 13,860.

Geography

Moorestown-Lenola is located at 39°57'45" North, 74°57'26" West (39.962562, -74.957332).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18.4 km² (7.1 mi²). 18.2 km² (7.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.70% water.

Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 13,860 people, 5,250 households, and 3,827 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 760.1/km² (1,967.6/mi²). There are 5,440 housing units at an average density of 298.4/km² (772.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 88.68% White, 6.96% African American, 0.19% Native American, 2.13% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.55% from other races, and 1.49% from two or more races. 1.98% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 5,250 households out of which 34.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.1% are non-families. 23.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.59 and the average family size is 3.07.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 26.4% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 25.7% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 87.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.8 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $68,770, and the median income for a family is $79,953. Males have a median income of $60,486 versus $34,847 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $34,311. 4.3% of the population and 3.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 4.4% of those under the age of 18 and 3.6% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
