Morazán Department
Morazán is a department of El Salvador in the northeast part of the country. The capital is San Francisco Gotera . It has 1447.45 km² and a population of more than 250,000.
Gotera was made department in 1875 (its capital was Osicala). On February 8, 1877, Gotera was made the capital. The department changed its name on March 14, 1877 from Gotera to Morazan.
