Mount Edgecumbe is the name of a long dormant volcano located on Kruzov Island , Alaska, USA.
History
It was named by Captain Cook in 1778, probably for George, Earl of Edgecumbe.
Eruptions
In 1974, a prankster ignited several old tyres in the crater, convincing nearby residents of Sitka, Alaska the volcano had awakened.
