Mr. and Mrs. Turner

Mr. and Mrs. Turner on the animated series The Fairly OddParents are the parents of central character Timmy Turner.

Their first names were never given, and a time-travel episode revealed that somehow they always had the nicknames "Mom" and "Dad." Mr. Turner is somewhat feminine (likes boy bands, girlish screams, etc.), while Mrs. Turner is more domineering. Both parents are quite clueless and stupid however, in contrast to many other childrens' cartoons which feature "wise" parental figures (examples include Mrs. Nora Wakeman on My Life as a Teenage Robot, another Nickelodeon cartoon produced by Frederator Studios).

One episode established that they had hoped for a baby girl while Mrs. Turner was expecting, and had bought a large quantity of pink stuff, which explains why Timmy wears a pink hat. Though the Turners love Timmy at heart, they often appear to treat him with indifference, going on frequent trips and abandoning their son with his hated babysitter, Vicky. In the pilot episodes of the series (on Oh Yeah! Cartoons), their faces were always just out of shot.

Biographical Details: Timmy Turner's nameless parents have a conflicting back-story, as it is often contradicted on the show. But here's what is definitive about them. Since his childhood, "Dad", as he was nicknamed, has always despised Sheldon Dinkleberg for countless reasons. One of those reasons was that the girl that everyone called "Mom" was in love with Sheldon. "Dad" did everything he could to win her affections, from winning a race and giving her the trophy to sending her "threat-mantic" letters. But things finally went "Dad's" way on a March 15th in college, the day when Denzel Crocker tried to give a speech about the existence of "FAIRY GODPARENTS!!", when Sheldon broke up with "Mom" to make a fortune, she finally saw the light of "Dad", who was working as a janitor. Eventually, they married and had Timmy, whom they thought was going to be a girl, as they bought just about everything a little girl would need, including his pink hat. Timmy turned out to be a boy, but the girl clothes didn't go to waste (as Timmy's baby photos of him in dresses show). But although they don't realize it, Mom & Dad are never really bonding with Timmy, and they're usually letting Vicky the Babysitter "take care" of him, not knowing of the bad things she does to him. But what Mom & Dad also don't know is that Timmy's goldfish are actually his fairy godparents, Cosmo & Wanda. Mom & Dad noticed a lot of the things that Cosmo & Wanda disguised themselves as, but never knew the secret until Timmy (temporarily) blew their cover in order to end Mr. Crocker's world order.

Historical Facts: In some episodes, Mom & Dad have been transformed into costumed superheroes known as Mighty Mom & Dyno Dad.

Little Known Secrets: Mom & Dad didn't have faces in the "Oh Yeah!" shorts. However, you could still see their heads as long as it wasn't revealing any facial features. The episode "Party of Three!" shows that Mom was once a redhead, but when "The Fairly OddParents!" became a regular Nicktoon series, and Mom & Dad were given faces, Mom's hair changed to light brown.

Working Theories: Butch Hartman has confirmed to be a fan of "The Simpsons"; therefore, it's possible that the Turners' rivalry with next-door neighbors the Dinkleburgs may have been based off of the Simpsons' rivalry with the Flanderses.
