Profile

Career in World Wrestling Entertainment

Mark Magnus made his professional debut in 2003, at Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made his official WWE debut on December 13, 2004. His introductory video (and therefore gimmick) featured him and his manager/trainer introducing themselves. He described himself as a Middle-Eastern-American wrestler wanting relief from the increased stereotypes created by the 9/11 attacks, as he enters professional wrestling. He then concludes with a controversial extension of hands and praise to Allah. He has stopped praising Allah vocally due to complaints by Arab-Americans, but still extends his hands during his ring entrance. His speech follows by a supposedly Arabic translation of his speech (in truth Farsi) by his manager/trainer, Khosrow Daivari. His recent speeches feature a threat to anyone who gets in his way.

Making his entrance into World Wrestling Entertainment, he berated the media of how they have characterized Arab-Americans after September 11. As an example, he focused his anger on the closest media available, RAW announcers Jerry "The King" Lawler and Jim Ross. He then went on to beat Jerry Lawler at New Year's Revolution. At this time in the WWE, Muhammad Hassan has yet to be pinned. To date, Hassan has defeated Jerry "The King" Lawler, The Hurricane, Sgt. Slaughter, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit.

At Wrestlemania 21 on April 3, 2005, Hassan and Daivari were featured in a popular segment with the legendary Hulk Hogan that saw Hogan coming to the rescue of mentally challenged (Kayfabe) wrestler Eugene who was being attacked by the two Arab-American performers. This was an important event in the further development of both Hassan and Daivari as top level heels within the company.
