Murashige and Skoog medium
Murashige and Skoog medium or MSO (or MS0 (MS-zero)) is a plant growth medium in the laboratory.
It contains all salts that a plant needs to grow. It contains the macro nutrients
- Ammonium nitrate
- Calcium chloride
- Magnesium sulfate
- Potassium nitrate
- Potassium phosphate
as well as many micro nutrients in small amounts and Vitamins, Sucrose and Agar.
Many variations are known, including 1/2 MSO (half strength, often used for Arabidopsis).
