Naoko Takeuchi (武内直子 Takeuchi Naoko), born March 15, 1967, is a manga artist who lives in Tokyo, Japan. She is the original creator of the famous manga/anime Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. Ms. Takeuchi is currently living in Tokyo with her husband, Yoshihiro Togashi, creator of YuYu Hakusho and son, (nicknamed Petit Ouji).

Ms. Takeuchi graduated from Kyoritsu Chemical University , where she received a degree in chemistry. She became a liscensed pharmacist. Her senior thesis was entitled "Heightened Effects of Thrombolytic Actions Due to Ultrasound."

Ms. Takeuchi's works are widely admired by anime/manga fans. She is a well-known manga-ka in the United States. Her most popular work, Sailor Moon, has been widely reprinted and marketed in North America. Takeuchi is an avid traveler and has visited the United States many times. She attended San Diego Comic-Con in 1998.

  • Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon (Pretty Sailor Soldier Sailormoon): Known to American audiences as Sailor Moon A fusion of styles between magical girl and sentai. About a girl who discovered she was a pretty Sailor Soldier for Love and Justice. Sailor Moon was largely responsible for the late 1990s resurgence of magical girls.
  • Miss Rain : A collection of short shojo stories
  • Prism Time : a collection of short shojo stories from early works to works she did in the last 90's. There are two volumes of this.
  • PQ Angels : Features two alien girls named after vegetables, who can turn into cockroaches searching for their princess.
  • Princess Takeuchi Naoko's Return-to-Society Punch!! : A collection of strips detailing what Takeuchi-sensei did after Sailormoon.
  • Princess and Prince Marriage Punch!: A one-shotter about the marriage of Takeuchi's marriage to Togashi.
  • Prince and Prince and Petit Ouji Punch!: An on-and-off again serial about the current life of Takeuchi-sensei and her family.
  • Toki Meka : A one-shot story about a robot (Meca) created by Hoshiko and their adventures.
  • Love Witch : A magical girl story in which a witch receives a perfume bottle and becomes a witch, but with a heavy price....
  • Toki Meka : A resumed version of the original one-shotter that was produced after Love Witch and the production of Live Action Sailormoon (Pretty Guardian Sailormoon) with new characters, and a new plot.
