National Democratic Front of Bodoland
The Bodo Security Force (BSF) was created in 1988, under the leadership of Ranjan Daimary . The Bodo (community) group is based on the state of Assam in India. In 1996 a branch of the BSF created the Bodoland Liberation Tigers Force that became the Bodoland Army and finally, the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) the following year.
This organisation fights to get a sovereign Bodoland north of the Brahmaputra. It was very active during the 1990s. It consists of around 1,000 fighters. The NDFB is allied with the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (IM) and holds training areas in the South of Bhutan. Ranjan Daimary is its current leader.
The flag of the NDFB is green with a yellow star on red background on the corner. These three colours are the national colours of Bodoland.
