Neale Donald Walsch

Neale Donald Walsch was born in Milwaukee,USA, and brought up as a Roman Catholic, by a family which encouraged his quest for spiritual truth. He studied The Bible, the Rig Veda and the Upanishads, and is best for his series of books titled Conversations with God. The books so far in the series are Conversations With God parts 1-3 and Tomorrow's God. A new book, What God Wants is planned for release later in 2005.

His books are claimed to be directly channelled by God and claim to help a person relate to God from a modern perspective. The God in his books, for example, says that "there is nothing you have to do". Walsch/God tries to communicate to us an unselfish god, and one that is very different to the God of Christianity and Judaism. His vision expressed is of an entirely new spirituality, in which all of humanity will come together for the common good - something which is called 'humanity's team'.

There are parallels with this philosophy and that of the Baha'i Faith. The books have had a great appeal within the New Age sub culture.
