Nene Valley Railway
The Nene Valley Railway is a preserved railway in Cambridgeshire, England, running between Peterborough and Yarwell Junction . The line runs for seven and a half miles. As well as stations at each terminus, there are a three stops en route: Orton Mere , Ferry Meadows and Wansford
The railway originally formed the eastern part of a British Rail line between Peterborough and Northampton, but the line was shut following the Beeching Axe. The line has since been taken over and re-opened by the Peterborough Railway Society , and is today home to a variety of locomotives from around the world. Of particular note are the locomotives based on those in the Thomas the Tank Engine stories.
