New Jersey City University
New Jersey City University (formerly Jersey City State College) is a public university located in Jersey City, New Jersey.
It was founded in 1927 as the "New Jersey State Normal School" and became the "New Jersey State Teachers College" in 1935. The "Jersey City State College" became a university in 1998.
There are about 3,700 full-time and 2,600 part-time undergraduate and 1,400 graduate students.
The oldest building of the campus is an attractive gothic structure, the other buildings are various shades of modern. The campus is located on Kennedy Boulevard and is easily accessible by public transit. The neighborhood consists mainly of small single-family detached houses.
