Nico Robin (ニコ・ロビン) is a fictional character in the anime and manga One Piece.

Nico Robin is the seventh member of the Straw Hat Pirates and is an archaeologist. She comes from a family of archaeologist. She currently has a bounty of 79 million berries. She got this bounty at the age of eight when she sank 8 Marine ships by accident using her Hana Hana Devil Fruit powers.

Nico Robin is one of those few who could read the ancient language scripted on poneglyphs , which record ancient history. She is in search of the True History Text which records the history of a period of which when no recorded history can be found in the world. This text has been brought to the last island of the Grand Line, Raftel, by Gol D. Roger (or Gold Roger).

Nico Robin had previously worked for the secret criminial organisation Baroque Works before she joined the crew. She was the vice-president and had the code name Miss All Sunday .

SPOILER WARNING

Robin is the oldest and wisest member of the crew. Her birthday is on the 6th of February. Currently Nico Robin is also working under the government organization called CP9 due to blackmail.

The reason why Nico Robin was working for the CP9 was because of the Buster Call, which includes 10 warship and 5 vice Admirals. If any one get blasted by the Buster Call is completely gone, any ships would be wiped out and there is no escape from this.

Because of this, she cared for her Nakama (Friends) and does not wish to see her current friends getting killed by this.

After the Davy Back Fight, she confronted Ao Kiji, one of the three Chief Amdirals who ate the Hie Hie fruit. She gave in knowing that there is no way that her Nakama would be safe. Ao Kiji tells them little of Nico Robin's dark past taht any orgenization she joins are always wiped out and she'll be the only survivor.

He then decide to test the Straw-Hat by freezing her and treating to shatter her apart olny to get saved by Luffy and Ussop, he mockly wonders why there saving her.

There, Nico Robin faced two fatal terms: She either cooperate with the Government and help them find the anceint weapeons or wacth her Nakama get wiped out by the Buster Call. This is why she hates the Government and was forced to scaraifice her Nakama to save them from the Buster Call.

When the Straw Hats reached Water 7, Nico Robin has to act cool not to start any ruckus among the crew by acting chippy and cheery. She went to walk with Chopper to an local bookstore.

When Chopper went inside the bookstore, Robin stays outside. The masked man walked past her(later found out that it was Bluneo, one of the CP9 agent who walked past her in a fastival mask and costume).

The Masked Man/ Bluneo walked past her saying the word "CP9". This scared the shit out of her, she has no choice but to disappear and work with the CP9.

She shot Iceburg, but disappeared again. She later found Sanji and Chopper across the water street (Sanji and Chopper were looking for her) and subtley told them she does not want to follow the Nakama again(Of course, she had to lie to them to keep them off her track).

Sanji told Chopper to go back to Luffy and inform him this situation. Sanji disappeared in chapter 340; he later reappeared in chapter 359 following Nico Robin all that time.

(Almost the same length of chapters that Luffy disappeared back in Alabasta. Luffy was absent for 20 chapters, Sanji disappeared for 19 chapters).

Later, she and Blueneo(Who is in a Bear costume) broke in the Headquaters of the Gallery-La to force Iceburg to tell them where the Pluton blueprints are.

In the original Japanese version of the anime, she is voiced by Yuriko Yamaguchi.
