Nico Vaesen
Nico Vaesen (born September 28, 1969 in Hasselt, Belgium) is a Belgian football player who currently plays for Birmingham City F.C. as a goalkeeper.
He spent his first professional season at Belgian side K.S.C. Eendracht Aalst, and on May 21, 1998 moved to Huddersfield Town F.C., where he played 135 league games. During his first season for the club, he won the clubs' Supporters Player of the Year in his first season. After three years at the side, on June 18, 2001 he signed for Birmingham City F.C..
Until season 2003-04, when he picked up an injury and found himself behind Ian Bennett in the club's priorities, he kept a place in the squad, but, on Christmas Eve of that year he was loaned to Gillingham F.C. for one and a half months, during which time he participated in five games.
Spells at Bradford City F.C. and Crystal Palace F.C. in the first half of 2004 followed.
