Nissan QR engine

The QR engine is a 2.0 L to 2.5 L straight-4 piston engine from Nissan. It is an aluminum DOHC 4-valve design with variable valve timing and optional direct injection.

QR20DE

The 2.0 L QR20DE produces 150 hp (112 kW).

It is used in the following vehicles:

  • 2001 Nissan XTrail
  • 2000-2004 Nissan Bluebird Sylphy
  • 2001-2005 Nissan Primera P12
  • 2002-2005 Nissan Serena C24, 145 hp (108 kW)

QR25DE

The QR25DE is a 2.5 L (2488 cc) version built in Decherd, TN. Bore is 89 mm and stroke is 100 mm. Output is 175 hp (130 kW) at 6000 rpm with 180 ft.lbf (244 Nm) of torque at 4000 rpm in Altima and Sentra SE-R Spec V models. Engines in the Sentra SE-R model have 165 hp (123 kW) at 6000 rpm with 175 ft.lbf (237 Nm) of torque at 4000 rpm.

It has an aluminum engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses SFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with bucket tappets and features forged steel connecting rods, a one-piece cast camshaft, and an unusual nylon intake manifold.

It is used in the following vehicles:

  • 2001-2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R & SE-R Spec V
  • 2004-2005 Nissan Altima
  • 2001-2005 Nissan Serena C24, 158 hp (118 kW)
  • 2001-2005 Nissan XTrail APEC export version, 178 hp (133 kW)

QR25DD

Similar to QR25DE, but with direct injection. It produces 168 hp (125 kW) and 181 ft.lbf (245 Nm). Fitted in:
