OUCA
The Oxford University Conservative Association (OUCA) is a student political organisation founded in 1924. A bastion of student politics, sometimes controversial, the Association has been one of the foremost stomping grounds of Conservative politicians. Amongst its alumni are countless luminaries within the Conservative Party over the past eighty years - including several Cabinet ministers and even Prime Ministers.
Owing to the unique collegiate status of Oxford, individual colleges have been known to hold a hegemonic hold within the Association through their membership. Various epochs are passed through in which one or two colleges may be in the ascendant - traditionally those like Christ Church, Oxford and Oriel College, Oxford. Currently one of its largest contingents is from the smallest undergraduate college in the University: Mansfield College, Oxford.
Former Presidents include Margaret Thatcher, Edward Heath and William Hague.
