Oberste Heeresleitung
Oberste Heeresleitung (OHL, or Supreme Army Command) was the highest echelon of command of the German army in World War I.
Between the OHL and the Seekriegsleitung (SKL, or Naval Warfare Command), which was responsible for naval warfare, there was insufficient coordination, at least during the preparations for war; e.g., the Imperial navy did not know about the Schlieffen plan, which planned an attack through Belgium on France.
