In December 2003 The Observer newspaper printed its list of the 50 people it considered funniest and/or most influential in British comedy.
The list was not ranked but presented alphabetically.

- The League of Gentlemen and 3 Non-Blondes were the only groups of performers named as opposed to individuals.
