Office of the Secretary of Homeland Defense Identification Badge
The Office of the Secretary of Homeland Defense Identification Badge is a military badge of the United States Coast Guard which is currently under development by the Department of Homeland Security. Upon completion and issuance, the Office of Secretary of Homeland Defense Identification Badge will be issued to any Coast Guard service member who performs active duty in the office of the United States Secretary of Homeland Security.
Current estimates place the release of the Office of the Secretary of Homeland Defense Identification Badge in early 2006 or 2007. The badge was created as a replacement for the Office of the Secretary of Transportation Identification Badge which was declared obsolete in 2003 following the transfer of the Coast Guard from the Department of Transportation to the Department of Homeland Security.
