Opanci
Opanci are a kind of shoes worn in the medieval Serbia. They are made out of leather. They have no laces, are pretty durable, and have horn-like ending on toes. Nowadays, they are usually worn in rural areas of Serbia and Montenegro, parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other parts of rural former Yugoslavia.
The medieval kind of Opanci shown here are diffrent from the kind that was used during the SFRY. The kind used during that period didnt have a tip on the front similar to the picture shown here and was not interlaced. It was black gum shaped to the form of a foot. Laces were incoporated but frequently broke.
