Orenburg Oblast

Orenburg Oblast (Оренбу́ргская о́бласть) is a federal subject of the Russian Federation (an oblast). It is located in the Privolzhsky (Volga) Federal District, and its administrative center is Orenburg.

Area 124,000 km², population 2,179,551 (as of 2002 All-Russian Population Census).

The most important river of the oblast is Ural.
