Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica
Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica is a Roman Catholic house of worship in the west side neighborhoods of Chicago, Illinois in the United States. Located at 3121 West Jackson Boulevard, it is one of only three churches in Illinois designated by the Pope with the title of basilica. Built in the Renaissance architectural style, the basilica was completed in 1900 after ten years of construction. It features a barrel-vaulted ceiling that wraps around a high altar made entirely of Carrara marble. Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica is served by the Archdiocese of Chicago.
