Pål Arne Fagernes
Pål Arne Fagernes (June 8, 1974 - August 4, 2003) was a Norwegian athlete.
Fagernes had a promising career in javelin throw. His best result in a international championship was a 4th place in the world championship in 1999. He placed 9th at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Fagernes won four national championships in javelin throw, and still holds the Norwegian record at 86.74 m. As a junior, Fagernes competed at the top national level both in cycling, athletics and cross country skiing. Fagernes also boxed one professional boxing match in the heavyweight class in 2003, which he won on knock out.
Fargernes died in a car accident in 2003.
