Parkchester-East 177th Street (IRT Pelham Line station)

Parkchester, originall Parkchester-East 177th Street, is an express station. It has two island platforms and three tracks. There are a couple of 1950's-style mushroom shaped lights at the end of the platforms. An interesting feature is the covered exits from the platform to the middle level, which features a corssunder and windows in a simulated 12-pane pattern similar to those at Whitlock Avenue station. The fare control is at street level, and the room features a painting entitled Live The Dream. There is an escalator from the fare control to the southbound platform, bypassing the mezzanine. The southbound platform has an old tower at the south end. This station is massive and similar to the Queensboro Plaza station on the Flushing Line.
