Pat Crerand
Pat Crerand (born February 2, 1939 in Glasgow) was a Scottish football player. Paddy was purchased from Celtic by Manchester United. He was known as the Roy Keane of his day because of his tenacity and tackling ability. His first game for the club came against Blackpool in 1962. He was a hard tackling midfielder who was also an accurate passer for strikers Bobby Charlton and George Best. He helped United to the 1963 F.A. Cup, as well as the 1965 and 1967 championship teams. He was also intrigal part of the 1968 European Cup champions. He retired in 1972, after appearing in 392 games and scoring 15 goals for United. Today, he appears regularly on MUTV, Manchester United's television channel.
