Paul Barresi is an American actor, film director, and media personality. He is best known for his work in adult films and for having had a part in several lurid tabloid sex scandals during the 1980s and 1990s. His career transcends these bounds, however, and he has appeared in several mainstream movies and a large number of television shows.

Commentary on Baressi’s life and work has often centered on its contradictions. He is a married man who has made a great deal of gay pornography, and he has criticized the adult industry for its lack of ethics but has also admitted in interviews to questionable behavior himself. These strange paradoxes make for a colorful story, though, and Barresi, a good showman, has never hidden them. They are in fact probably one factor in keeping his media career going, never at a high level but fairly steadily, for thirty years.
