Paul Vergès

Paul Vergès (born 5 March 1925 in Thailand) is a French politician and Member of the European Parliament for France's "outre mer". He is a member of the French Communist Party, which is part of the European United Left–Nordic Green Left group, and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Development .
He is also a member of the Subcommittee on Human Rights , a substitute for the Committee on Regional Development , vice-chair of the delegation to the ACP–EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and a substitute for the delegation for relations with the countries of Central America.
He is the twin of Jacques Vergès, a famous lawyer.
